Rock Band PS2 for $99 shipped @ Amazon

Sure, it’s not the best version of the game, but I’m sure there are people out there who want to simply check the game out and, well, who doesn’t have a PS2? This is Amazon’s Deal of the Day for Games, though, so if you want it, you’ll have to act fact.

Oh, and I’m pretty sure all these instruments work on the PS3, so if you were thinking of upgrading eventually, this is a pretty cheap way to get started.

Rock Band Special Edition PS2 - $99.99

BONUS DEAL:

OK, so it’s not gaming-related (though there is that Family Guy game from a few years back…), but Amazon has the huge collection of Family Guy DVDs on sale today for $60 (down from $150ish). If you don’t own these already, you’re silly. Hear me? Silly.

Family Guy - Freakin’ Party Pack - $59.99

Nights Wii for $20 @ Amazon

Was Nights Wii as good as the Saturn game? Probably not. Is it still worth playing? Yep. And for $20, it’s even worth buying! Thanks, Amazon!

MGS4 Guides for Cheap @ Amazon

Since everyone who owns a PS3, and even some who don’t, picked up MGS4 today, there’s likely to be quite a few who also want the nifty looking strategy guide. Amazon to the rescue, as they’ve marked both guides down quite a bit from their original asking price. $19.79 for the Special Edition guide and $13.59 for the regular. You know you want that Special Edition guide to sit nicely on the shelf next to your Limited Edition copy of the game…

Wishful Thinking: Improving the DS

Mere mention of the words “improve” and “DS” within a single sentence is liable to whip fanfolk into a tizzy, firing salvos of barely-coherent temper tantrums on their misguided way to my inbox.

That being said, the venerable DS could be improved. Here’s a few ways how:

Super Smash Bros. Brawl for $39 + Free $10 GC @ Amazon

Pretty good deal for the 6 of you who haven’t already bought the game. Amazon’s currently selling Super Smash Bros. Brawl for $39 (which is already $10 cheaper than anywhere else), and on top of that, they’re tossing in a $10 Gift Card good for future purchases. Oh, and you’re looking at free shipping and no tax for most of you. OK so you can’t use the $10 GC on Smash Bros., but in a WAY, it’s like getting the game for $29.99… at least that’s always helped me justify purchases like this in the past.

Episode #001

In the debut episode, Peter gives his very, VERY detailed impressions of Ninja Gaiden 2, while Bob fills everyone in on Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 2 and pimps a handful of totally awesome Wii Ware titles. Dracula, not having played much of anything last week, presents the first Shenmue prank call, as well as a call to Fred - a man who simply wanted to sell his PS2, but ended up getting his balls busted.

Haze already $39.99. Fastest drop ever?

A handful of fairly shitty reviews has caused the Haze hype train to derail, perhaps, faster than anyone expected. Released on 5/20/08 for $59.99, the game’s already hit the $39.99 mark at Gamestop and Circuit City (starting Sunday). The good news is, if you were silly enough to buy Haze at the initial pricepoint, it was a fast enough drop that you can still get your $20 back. The bad news is, you’re still overpaying for Haze.
