  2. Israel says:

Been in the US this last week. What a great country. I had to buy MLB09 there because I couldn’t find it anywhere in this shithole.

  3. Nomin says:

Has anyone tried Zeno Clash? Is it any good as it appears to be the indie flavor of the moment?

  4. STB says:

Episode update: there’s apparently some sort of technical problem with the editing.

    “Technically” Peter sux.

  5. Kornkurlz says:

TZ net-worth seems to be falling…

yo thiz why stb should take over…podcasting is just a passing fad for the other hosts.

    Murder boner

  8. Wonderful Ned says:

    Half-Life 2 really isn’t a amazing game.

  9. Israel says:

Half-Life 2? Them let’s talk about the Turok review.

  10. Wonderful Ned says:

OMG! Why does Pete fail at everything!?!

  11. STB says:

    Even though Episode 27 hasn’t been (won’t ever be? Peter?) edited/released , we’re taping Episode 28 tonight.

Anyone have topics they want us to address?

  12. Wonderful Ned says:

Is Peter homer sexual or bi?

    Is Carah coughing @ 3:40?

  14. Kornkurlz says:

    @STB-in depth RE5 maybe?

  15. Nomin says:

Just do a livecast or something, with minimal editing limited to soundbytes (or what they call it industry lingo wise in radio) replacing everyone of Christian Bale penis references to ‘Flock!’

  16. ctuck says:

I still wonder why your editing takes such a long time/is such a problem, you dont really have high production quality…

  17. ctuck says:

Its too bad I don’t check the site regularly anymore or I woulda reccommended you talk about………

THE TURTLES IN TIME XBLA REMAKE!!!!

    http://kotaku.com/5236081/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-turtles-in-time-3d-remake-comes-out-of-its-shell

Sure you could say I wouldn’t of known about it then, but its the only thing worth talking about really.

  18. Wonderful Ned says:

I think my questions/subjects were the most relevant.

  19. STB says:

@ctuck OK, that’s just mean spirited. TZ is the best sounding podcast I’ve literally ever heard that wasn’t produced professionally. If you know of one produced with less than $500 worth of equipment, let alone in 3 (or 4, depending who’s on the show) separate cities, I’m dying to hear it. Meanie.

  20. Wonderful Ned says:

    Duh! The Ctuckcast–world-class production.

  21. Wonderful Ned says:

So… does Wolverine have shit framerate?

  22. STB says:

@WonderfulNed Before we taped last night, I asked RJ that question about the Batman Arkhan Asylum trailer. “Did that trailer have a lot of slow-motion in it, or does it just have a really shiitty framerate?”

  23. Kornkurlz says:

    the ctuck cast is incredible…. …….. …………….

so that wolverine movie is nice yo! weapon 11 or whatever was such a tight villain, even if it was van wilder

  24. Kornkurlz says:

    Ooops… SPOILERS ABOVE (sorry)

  25. ctuck says:

    @Kornkurlz

I actually used to record a fair share of podcasts, had nothing to talk about but dirty stories from my life and shit but it was fun

    @STB

So I know that when recording those podcasts its pricey, you can get a decent microphone for like… 30 bucks if you want something really nice 100 is a good number to expect, so sure 500 bucks among like 4 or 5 people is accurate I’d say, not including the computer, I’m assuming thats pre-existing and a program like audacity is free.

Audio quality aside (cause thats pretty easy to do even a shitty mic, if you take a few minutes to work with the levels and well skype recordings always sound like skype calls) when I talk about production quality I mean in terms of how you edit and whats inside.

So when I did my stuff, it only took maybe an hour or two tops, with splicing in music and the tracks and even if you wanna work in voice clips, hell get real fancy say it takes 4 hours. You don’t have to parse through interviews or shit like that, you are just editing you and your friends rambling, so I think 4 hours is plenty of time.

But some how it takes you guys WEEKS, I don’t get it. Thats what I mean from production quality, for what you guys have, it shouldnt take weeks at all. You clearly play alot of video games so there is time enough there, I just dont see why it takes so long to get it done.

And honestly as a viewer to the site, when I come back to the site and theres nothing new to see for weeks and sometimes more weeks, I’m prone to stop going and just wait for the RSS feed.

  26. ctuck says:

By the way, my ranting doesnt come from hate or dislike, I really like you guys and your podcast and site, I just wish it kept up with my demand for it is all.

  27. Darth_Bobby says:

I just want to listen to your voices! Is that too much to ask?

  28. STB says:

If it makes anyone feel any better, we don’t like that we can sometimes go a MONTH without releasing an episode. I actually like having a new episode to listen to every week, too. We’re also down to two possible editors (RJ and Peter), because my machine is too old and slow to handle multitrack editing; just exporting my track every week takes around half an hour. This *should* get better soon, as my fatty tax refunds are going to two things: a grill and a computer that doesn’t suck.

  29. Kornkurlz says:

i dont see how one shitty computer in a group of four can be the reason of taking over a month to edit though.

  30. Wonderful Ned says:

Nope, that’s not the reason — the reason is Pete failing at life yet again. =(

  31. STB says:

@Kornkurlz I wasn’t trying to make an excuse, mostly because I don’t think one’s necessary. I don’t *like* disappointing the few people that would even want to listen to Tapezilla on a weekly basis, but the reason it takes a month to get an episode edited is the same reason it sometimes takes a month to tape one. We intend to turn them around quickly, but shit happens.

When it was 3 people who could all edit the show, they could skip around if someone took too long getting to the editing. With the current lineup, there are only two and both of them are otherwise occupied with work, family, relationship stuff, or even other hobbies, it gets pushed back.

We’d all like for it to be clockwork, but we also don’t want it to feel like a job. Odds are we’d just stop doing the show before it felt like we *had* to get the show out on a schedule; that wouldn’t be fun for anyone, us or the listeners.

Update: Last I knew, Peter was working on editing episode #28 earlier this evening.

  32. McWeen says:

This comment will add nothing to the discussion.

  33. ctuck says:

Well maybe its time that one or all of you quit your jobs and focus on what really matters.

  34. Israel says:

    LOL

  35. blenky119 says:

why did you give another episode to pete to edit. It’ll take three years before it see’s the light of day. I know you’ve got jobs and stuff but I can’t see how like one night of the week whoevers editing couldn’t just sit down and do it in one batch. There’s always free time and while i think its good you guys are prioritising your life before the show so it feels more like fun, but there’s still a commitment to get the show to the fans expediently (or in the case of 27, at all)
