pornkurlz, pete, somebody! Fix the back-log episodes so I can catch up better!

  2. Wonderful Ned says:

Only Drac could fix it, but he’s too lazy to do it.

  3. Pete says:

I was told that they’re only on itunes to encourage people to use itunes.. or something. I’ll look into it again, because I agree the backlog should all be on the website. in the meantime, if you load up itunes, you should be able to get all of them.

  4. ctuck says:

You guys could always use http://libsyn.com/ they have some cool archive stuff goin on.

  5. Wonderful Ned says:

So… I’ve been watching the Man vs Food marathon on the Travel Channel.

  6. Kornkurlz says:

bob, how is the girlfriend after UNC?

  7. Pete says:

I’m watching the MVF marathon as well. I love this shit. makes me want to eat myself to death.

  8. ctuck says:

So I just got the Pitt and I’ve been playing it and I’m actually liking it alot. Its nice to have some explanation why there were so few slaves in the capitol wasteland.

The auto axe is just plain fun.

  9. Pete says:

the auto axe is the same as the ripper. it just doesn’t seem that new or satisfying. I’d rather club people to death.

  10. Kornkurlz says:

    DSi baaaby

  11. Wonderful Ned says:

    Yay shitty cameras.

  12. Kornkurlz says:

haha nintendo has perfected the art of marketing shit

  13. ctuck says:

    @pete

Ah, I never used the ripper, so the auto axe is totally new to me lol.

    @Wonderful Ned

The cameras arent for photography, they are for kids messing around. When it comes to hocking shit nintendo is pretty savy.

  14. Kornkurlz says:

the great thing is that the sales will be so high, nintendo will be able to milk the DS for another 2 or 3 years before releasing a new handheld.

  15. ctuck says:

If you had a wildly successful product would you do any different? I dont know that I would, I’d probably put a shit ton into R&D though.

I hear the DSi has a processer thats twice as fast as the DS and 4 times more ram.

  16. Kornkurlz says:

its not like the ds has any processor or ram issues though.

its as if they released a new attachement for the wii remote and called it a new system.

the point is…while a bunch of babies and little girls might buy the DSi, what do real gamers have to look forward to in the next 5 years? i assume most tapezilla fans are somewhat legit gamers. it aint like their releasing new tapes for the DS either; at least not enough worth playing. its all fucking ‘hannah montana’ and ‘my horse and me’.

i would not approach the market in the same way like you ctuck…but then again i’m not into wii music and shit.

  17. Pete says:

I can’t figure out what the DSi is for. web browser is okay and maybe of some use to some people, but who gives a shit about the camera or whatever… I don’t get what the whole point of remaking the system is for something that offers so little that’s new. going straight over my head. DS lite seemed pretty much perfect as it was.

introducing the lite made sense, because reasonably people could play the original DS (as I did) and thought “it’d be nice if it was less bulky and the screens were brighter. the Lite addressed that.

has anyone ever played a Lite and gone “this shit NEEDS a horrible camera on it”? I’m guessing very few. So I don’t get what this iteration is an answer to.

  18. ctuck says:

I get your point, and it’d be great to have a bunch of awesome games that are more up our ally. But as a company in a business, I can’t blame nintendo for cashing in and making the money, that is the whole point. And from a business standpoint money is a whole lot nicer then the “hardcore” liking a game, so I assume when its your job to turn a profit its alot easier to go with a sure thing, its just how it is.

I would bet nintendo is already working on a real successor to the DS so they can cash in on that eventually.

But really there are always a ton of games coming out on the DS for the “casual” and “hardcore” alike so I don’t care what they do with the DS I’m satisfied with it.

The wii, it would be nice if nintendo would go balls to the walls and just start putting awesome shit out constantly.

But I have a 360 as well and that gets the goods often enough. So between all the systems (ps3 someday) I have everything I need. I don’t need any one system to do it all for me. I infact like that theres different stuff on each.

Then again I’m not broke so I didn’t have to pick and choose just one. So I can see if you only bought a wii and were/are expecting the big time games how you’d be totally dissapointed. But again I’m not poor so my suggestion would be to save up until you can by somethin else.

I personally think the idea of one system having everything you want is a useless idea, between PC, 360, PS3, DS, PSP, IPHONE, whatever, there is PLENTY of shit to play so inconclusion. EH.

  19. ctuck says:

Op pete snuck one in there, my post was to Kurlz

As for the camera and sound crap on the DSi, I think thats exclusively to the kid, girl friend, weirdo mom, weirdo guy demographic.

My nephews think the DSi is the coolest shit ever and they’ve had a fat DS and multiple DS lites.

So I think the point of the DSi is to whore the DS out to an even more mainstream audience. And I think it will work.

  20. Pete says:

I almost pulled the trigger on a wii this weekend, but I backed off. even though I can pretty easily afford it right now, I am simply having a hard time justifying it — there are like 6 or 7 must play games, then the prospects slow way down as nintendo isn’t releasing much of anything that’s actually good and a game this year (that I’m aware of).

I also am getting the sense that the dell $200 deal will come around again sooner or later, and if I effectively wasted $50 by not waiting for it, I’d actually lose sleep over it. a few years ago I lost $40 in bank fees because I accidently overdrew my checking account… every so often, laying in bed at night, I still think about that $40.

  21. ctuck says:

Damn bank fees, they are such bs, its why I never use credit unions, they always fuck me. Like how fuckin dare they charge me money if I havent used my account for a while, its a fucking joke.

so I use this other bank where the teller was a cool dude so he gave me a student checking account that has no fee’s on it somehow and as far as the bank knows i’m still in college to this very day….

  22. Kornkurlz says:

    all valid points, fellas…

i guess the main thing is i wish nintendo would at least get back to releasing their first party franchises. i played the new mario and the zelda game on wii and they were both incredible…but i dunno i guess i’m just nostolgic for games like ocarina of time and mario 64. some of the ‘wii-makes’ will be cool i guess but they aren’t meaty games.

  23. Jefferson says:

@Kornsquirrels – I must say that Red Steel has to be the most innovative game of the last five years. From the boss fights having the ability to make the enemy surrender, to the multiplayer deathmatch. The number one reason I stood in line for 13 hours back in 2006 was because of Red Steel.

  24. Kornkurlz says:

i aint dissin the wii or ds at all. just nintendo’s neglection of the gamers who got them this far.

  25. McWeen says:

I would say if you have waited this long without picking up a Wii why not just wait for a price drop or something. Clearly at this point you aren’t in a hurry.

  26. Kornkurlz says:

but the demand is still fairly high so he could end up waiting a couple of years

  27. Wonderful Ned says:

Dude, don’t get me started about banks. Wells Fargo charged me $2 for a fucken phone call. What the hell, am I calling a phone sex line? A phone sex line would’ve been cheaper too, since the call only lasted like 1 minute–plus the chick on the line was a total bitch. I promptly closed the account the next day. WaMu also charged me $10 for using my savings account over 5 times in 1 month; I’m not too mad about that ’cause the savings account they offer is pretty high yield and they don’t charge for phone calls. $10 lesson, I guess.

I’m still thinking of that $1 the guy at Popeyes short changed me a couple of weeks back!!! :’( I could’ve had 2 more pieces of chicken!

@ Jefferson – Did you hock the Wii to some idiot after playing Red Steel for a huge profit? I would’ve, hahaha.

  28. Wonderful Ned says:

Speaking of the Wii, how could they sell that thing for $250? It’s basically a fuckin’ GameCube and they sold that for $80 many years ago. It just seems like a huge rip-off imo. No HD, yo.

  29. ctuck says:

If only because of the fact that you can play Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen on the wii, its totally worth 250 bucks. Sure you may say: “But mister tuck, you can play it on your Snes, your modded DS and PSP and computer and probably your Texas Instruments calculator.”

To which I reply boldy: “Nay welp! Ogre battle is worth its weight in gold a thousand fold!”

  30. Kornkurlz says:

    what will nintendo ‘innovate’ next?

  31. blenky119 says:

8-bit graphics, they’re the new hd

  32. Wonderful Ned says:

Nintendo Innovative Card Game (NICG). Selling paper for money = $$$$ huge profit. Back to da roots.

  33. Pete says:

jefferson stood in line for “the dishwasher” and there wasn’t a line.

  34. Kornkurlz says:

is our fan art gonna just rot in RJ’s email box? i was hoping drunken jefferson could see my doodle of him

  35. McWeen says:

    @Kornkurlz

I am guessing like most things with tapezilla it will show up eventually, if not in a timely manor.

Anybody else check out the game days sale only to discover they sale prices sucked?

  36. blenky119 says:

If its anything like the shows then the fan art will be promised to be uploaded in a week and take around 12 years to turn up (hyperbole used in this post)

  37. STB says:

Have I told you all lately that you’re beautiful, and that I love and appreciate you?

  38. blenky119 says:

Now stb was either drunk or trying to avoid our rants against the show then. And no you hadn’t but you just have and that makes me feel warm and appreciated inside

  39. McWeen says:

It would be fun to take a dump off of an overpass.

  40. STB says:

@McWeen: is that some kind of Passover joke, you antisemitic sonofabitch?!

  41. ctuck says:

You don’t have to put up with that stb..

  42. blenky119 says:

Yeah STB, Fucking do him in!

  43. Wonderful Ned says:

LOL, so Pete was lying after all…

    kotaku.com/5205385/gamestop-sells-played-games-as-new-sources-say-practice-could-be-illegal

    Shocking, positively shocking.

  44. Wonderful Ned says:

whoops, meant to say wasn’t lying.

  45. Wonderful Ned says:

So… Pete really licked fat, sweaty nerd jizz, eh?

  46. Kornkurlz says:

yall should at least do a final episode to close out a decent run at podcasting.

  47. blenky119 says:

They should take it to episode 30, then it’d be a good solid multiple of ten.

  48. STB says:

we’re not quitting; RJ was just on vacation then sick. We’ll tape one this week.

  49. blenky119 says:

    Will it have drac in?

  50. Wonderful Ned says:

RJ seems to go on a lot of vacations — he must make bank.
