yo STBizzle, i got one of the old Eee pcs and its slow as shit. good for taking notes in class though.

I got a 900A. Slow as shit also.
    PROTIP:
Make sure to disable Realtek’s auto pop-up dialog crap. I was using the EEEPC to listen to music on the bus and I didn’t realize music was coming out of the speakers and the headphone ’til I got home. If you have that auto pop-up thing enabled, it doesn’t stop the speakers ’til you press “OK”. Now everybody in SF knows about my bad taste in music. :(

HAHA smooth…you in SF? i’m just north of the golden gate!

Mine seems to not play sound through the speakers if the headphones are plugged in. It also seems speedy enough for general use; I don’t expect to use it for any sort of gaming (3D or otherwise), Hulu’s watchable, etc. I bought it mostly for being able to browse/chat from the couch while watching TV, IMing from work, and to bring on trips, so it seems OK for that sort of stuff. I do intend to slap an SSD and another gig of RAM into it, though.

You can run left 4 dead on a netbook alright. They did a feature on gamespot about it. Not fully reliable but good enough for a estimation.

  6. Wonderful Ned says:

Nah, only if you’ve got one of ‘em fancy netbooks with teh nVidia ION chipset.

  7. blenky119 says:

hmm, i seem to remember the article only focusing on the need for an intel atom processor, but i’m guessing as you have a netbook you’ll know

  8. kornkrlz says:

my netbook runs on steam power…

  12. Points have not been proceeding well in my house lately. My kids have all come down having a stomach flu, I’ve extended family coming in for an event and my washing machine broke. Right now I just wish to sit in a corner and cry. Thankfully I’m not likely to do that. When my husband gets household in ten minutes I’m planning to lock myself in our bedroom. As soon as everyone stops banging for the door asking what I’m doing, I will relax. The first point I will do is Free XBOX 360 Games. That indicate is constantly very good for the laugh and I definitely have to have a single now. Following that I might nap or take a bubble bath. I haven’t decided yet.

Sorry to hear about your kids, Free PS3 Games. :( I’m also very sorry to hear about your broken washing machine.  I know that it’s tough with sick kids and dirty clothes.  Don’t cry, though.  Your kids will get better and your washing machine will get fixed. :)  But that is good advice about Free XBOX 360 Games.  Also, your advice about a bubble bath is also very good.
