There’s really no need to defend that the shows aren’t on a reliable schedule; they just aren’t, and probably won’t ever be.
It isn’t that we don’t WANT more listeners or aren’t aware that hitting a weekly or biweekly schedule would help retain existing audience and help get new listeners. We’re acutely aware that our current schedule (or lack thereof) isn’t ideal. If it helps, we don’t think it is, either.
It’s actually kind of flattering that some dedicated listeners get a little bent out of shape when there hasn’t been a new episode in too long…
Ultimately, it comes down to a combination of scheduling and priorities; It’s not trivial to coordinate 4 people’s lives to record and edit a show, especially during the holidays.
All this being said, S2E6 is in editing after some hardware trouble that has delayed production, and S2E7 *should* be recorded Wednesday (12/16).
Also, Arrested Developer raises a good point. Your subscriptions and ratings in iTunes are appreciated. But, to be clear, we are not holding episodes hostage until you do rate it… =)
