Tired of gaming podcasts being so pretentious and boring, some current and some former gaming industry folks have gotten together to form Tapezilla—a weekly dose of gaming updates, news and humor, including the now infamous Shenmue prank calls. Tapezilla finally drags the 'gaming podcast' out of the mundane, uninteresting and self-important quicksand it's been stuck in for far too long.
For the Dragon Quest fanatics who need something to tide them over until the release of DQIX in 2014, DQ Swords is finally beginning to drop in price. This is the cheapest we’ve seen so far.
Quite a good deal on a PC game that, while not living up to its namesake, is still a good time sink for strategy fans.
What more can really be said? It’s a game that… well, listen, we’re just not sure why it exists. At least today it’s only $20.
Amazon must be trying to clear out space in its warehouses so it has room for all the copies of LittleBigPlanet that are sure to collect dust this Fall… zing! Anyway, there are far too many to post here, so I’ll simply send you guys to the Outlet and Best Sellers sections to see some of them. Some of the better deals include Sega Rally Revo 360 for $13, COD2 or COD3 360 for $10, Full Auto 360 for $10, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory PS2 for $6, Universe at War 360 for $18, etc.
Though it seemingly sold better than most people expected (who expected Turok to sell ANY copies?), the dinosaur hunter redux has already fallen below that $29.99 mark - and this time it comes with a free strategy guide! If you’re just looking for the strategy guide, check your local Best Buy, as they got ‘pennied out’ a month or so ago.
Another day, another Sega game on clearance. I hate to see it, since I loves me some Sega, but I can’t complain about getting a terrific racing game for $18 and change. If you’re into rally games, or racing games in general, don’t skip this one.
In my opinion, $10 has become the “sweet spot” for most next-gen (or can we call them current gen now?) games, and lo and behold, Call of Duty 3 for the 360 has hit that magical price point today on Amazon. Sure, Call of Duty 3 isn’t nearly as good as Call of Duty 2 or Call of Duty 4, seeing as how it was developed by Treyarch and not Infinity Ward, but for $10, it’s tough to pass up.
Sure, it’s not the best version of the game, but I’m sure there are people out there who want to simply check the game out and, well, who doesn’t have a PS2? This is Amazon’s Deal of the Day for Games, though, so if you want it, you’ll have to act fact.
Oh, and I’m pretty sure all these instruments work on the PS3, so if you were thinking of upgrading eventually, this is a pretty cheap way to get started.
Rock Band Special Edition PS2 - $99.99
BONUS DEAL:
OK, so it’s not gaming-related (though there is that Family Guy game from a few years back…), but Amazon has the huge collection of Family Guy DVDs on sale today for $60 (down from $150ish). If you don’t own these already, you’re silly. Hear me? Silly.
