Tired of gaming podcasts being so pretentious and boring, some current and some former gaming industry folks have gotten together to form Tapezilla—a weekly dose of gaming updates, news and humor, including the now infamous Shenmue prank calls. Tapezilla finally drags the 'gaming podcast' out of the mundane, uninteresting and self-important quicksand it's been stuck in for far too long.
Just a week after the release of the Tapezilla War Game Generator, Pete, Bob and a very special guest riff on everything from Fable 2 and Fallout 3 to Gallop & Ride and Safe Cracker. As everyone knows, Toys R Us is running their annual Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale, but what most people don’t know is that they’re also running 40% off most Wii Accessories (remotes not included). Obviously, most of that stuff is garbage — however, if you’re lucky enough to have a TRU that actually has the 2000 points cards in stock, you can snag them for $12 a piece. With Shining Force 2’s VC release last week, you’d be an idiot not to grab one (or seven).

If you haven’t pulled the trigger on the purchase of a new Xbox 360, you no longer have an excuse. Now for under $200, you can get yourself the Xbox 360 Arcade Unit (yeah, no hard drive, but you can buy one of those separately) and the brand new Lego Batman. Lego Batman alone is $50, so you’re looking at a $150 ‘this-gen’ console. Oh, and no tax for most people.

You heard about it on a previous episode of Tapezilla, now witness the imagery. This is a shot taken minutes after the controller was demolished during an unfortunate game of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. RIP Dual Shock 2, and damn you Tony Hawk. Damn you.
This may sound surprising, but we’ve actually received a few e-mails asking if we have any banners that listeners can use to promote Tapezilla — either on myspace/facebook pages or in sigs on forums that allow that kind of nonsense. Well ask no longer. I give you both an ad banner-sized well… banner, and the rectangular logo used on our more recent Youtube calls. Feel free to steal them and put them everywhere.
For anyone who couldn’t quite pull the trigger on Madden ‘09 CE at its $90 price point (and goodness why would you), you can now get the whole damn package for $45. To put it another way, until they sell out, you can get the CE for $15 less than the regular edition. And hey, if you really want to be a cheap bastard, flip the included copy Head Coach ‘09 on ebay for $35 and pay a grand total of $10 for this year’s Madden. Not too shabby.

Another former gaming industry insider, Pete (aka Matt White) has a resume that includes both IGN and UGO, as well as the now famous Gun Baby webcomic. Pete's cynicism and opinionated rants keep Tapezilla from being just another lovefest podcast.
A self-proclaimed world champion Virtua Fighter player and Team Fortress 2 king, Stevie B is now a lumberjack with the power of Zeus on his side.
