    Hell yea new show!

    torch says “finally”

Just thought I’d mention that yours is the only podcast I’ve listened to (and I listen to a shload) that I agree with on Arkham Asylum. Good game, very good game, even–but not really worthy of the incessant fellating it’s receiving from the whole of the internet.

  • Mush Mouth

I’ll listen to this when I am at work.

  • blenky119

well i know what i’m listening to in bed

  • Darth_Bobby

Hey Pete, Demons Souls is getting amazing reviews. Check out Game Trailers review.

  • Arrested Developer

    Geeze, spoilies on Arkahm Asylum.

  • Israel

Oh no, I still have to play it. But I gotta listen to this too. Ahh

  • http://tapezilla.net Pete

to sum up batman? “wasted opportunities”.

  • kornkrlz

i think pete’s right about motion control. it aint that fun after the gimick wears off.

  • Arrested Developer

I’ve heard it said that big reason Microsoft discourages giving away free premium content (besides not getting a cut) is that when a company gives stuff away for free it makes other companies who can’t afford to give away free content on the marketplace look bad. The rule of thumb does seem to be that they’ll allow one free dlc pack (L4D had the free Survival pack a few months back) but that’s it.

  • Lugo

“Loved the show, but who the hell keeps eating? I had to skip part of the beginning”

  • http://codysramblings.com ctuck

I actually only listen in hopes that I’ll be able to hear someone eating.

So dont you dare stop!!! DONT YOU DARE!

  • http://meatspin.com Wonderful Ned

    I never played WoW…

  • Israel

shit, i had to skip all that part about Batman. come on, description of boss battles, including the final? That’s BS! But a funny show despite being all about games.

  • Israel

    Darkest of Days is awesome!

  • http://twitter.com/stbtz STB

Tapezilla S2E5 is in the can. It should be up soonish.

  • kornkrlz

    hoorah!

  • blenky119

    Christ, quick turnaround this time.

  • ctuck

    God damn it.

You know what I cant stand, online stores that dont send confirmation emails.

I just bought Dragon Age on the EA store and instead of a confirmation email its like “eh the order is processing and we’ll let you know how that goes”

  • http://twitter.com/stbtz STB

@ctuck retail box shipped to you, or the download service? I bought one thing from the “EA Downloader” or whatever it’s called, the expansion for Battlefield 2142. Doubtful that I’ll ever buy from that service again. You have to run their software while you use the game you get from it and you can’t go back and re-download stuff. They had to patch in the ability to burn your own backup, too (I think).

Attention game industry: Steam has pretty much perfected this model. Don’t bother to innovate until you at least MATCH Steam’s set of features. WIth EA’s resources, they should have the de facto digital download service. Shameful.

  • ctuck

@STB I ordered the collectors edition in a real made of metal (TIN! TINNNN!) box(something about a cloth map is irresistible to me..)

You would think they would at least try and closely mimic, if not copy, the wildly successful steam model.

  • kornkrlz

@Drac- its all about the FIFA 2010. lemme know if you ever want an ass kicking.

  • http://tapezilla.net Pete

direct2drive works well, but steam is superior to all.

  • ctuck

So I am playing through fallout (my 2nd) try and I must say, this game is a delight, a real treat.

  • Israel

@ctuck I’m doing the same thing right now.I’ve been trying to reach level 20 again to download the add-ons. And playing as a girl! (not as fun ,though).

  • blenky119

Is it like replay fallout month or something, because I too am on my second run (just bought the GOTY edition) and find it’s better the second time around because i’m taking my time to really let the story sink in.

  • ctuck

Oh that game of the year edition… I had to stop myself from buying it… I have all the DLC on the ol redbox but the GOTY edition is so shiny and neat lookin… I’m such a consumer whore. If there was a cloth map in it they would have got me…

  • blenky119

See i held off buying it and just did a run through on a rental copy, then got the deal of GOTY edition for £30($49.17) when the one without £40 worth of DLC is only £5 cheaper. I just couldn’t resist it and made the jump to actually buying it.

What up everyone? Here’s the rundown from the past week: I finished Brutal Legend, working on Boy and His Blob, then gonna start Uncharted 2 this weekend. BL was a blast.

  • blenky119

@Israel FUCKING LOL. I don’t care if its fake, it’s fucking hillarious

  • ctuck

anybody else playing dragon age journeys? I think for a web game its pretty good, and it gives out items for dragon age, sure to please your inner loot whore!

  • kornkrlz

    wow ep. 5 was great!

  • Wonderful Ned

Anyone else know about this MSDNAA thing? I just apparently got a bunch of expensive software for free! FREE! and I didn’t even need to pirate them.

    Isn’t that awesome, guise?
2 copies of XP Pro, 2 copies of Windows 7, 2 copies of Vista Business and a bunch of other useless junk for free!

    lolololololololololol

Go try it and see if you university is on the list.

  • Wonderful Ned

Oh wait, that’s 4 copies of XP isn’t it? Haha, what am I going to do with all these.

  • Jefferson

@Ned where did you get all this shit from… I could use about half of it.

  • Wonderful Ned

I think you need to be enrolled in college or something, it’s from here:

    msdnaa.net/search/schoolsearch.aspx

  • Wonderful Ned

Supposedly also works if you’re an IEEE or ACM member, but I haven’t tried with those.

  • Wonderful Ned

Drac, last.FM is a horrible website where you could search up musicians and bands and they could recommend you some other bands or musicians you might also like (which they suck at). They also have some sample music there (like a couple full songs for download, and some 15 or 30 second demos).

  • Drac

Sound like a worse version of Pandora.

PS: I just want to say that I love all you guys.

  • Israel

@blenky119 If that’s a fake, the guy who made it is a genius :P

  • blenky119

So i have the opportunity to get Windows 7 professional for £30, and am running Vista so I can just update. Would you guys recommend me do this or wait until SP1 for 7 comes out so any launch bugs are ironed out? Pretty non tech savvy here (I can do more advanced stuff than the average user, but am not wholly confident in my skills to not fuck up a clean install)

  • Wonderful Ned

I’m pretty sure you’re going to come across a free Windows 7 eventually. Good thing M$ makes so much money on pre-installed OSes, else they’d make no money at all (I got Vista Business for free 2 times before this, and now they’re giving away even more shit, so they gave me 4 copies of Vista now). I’d say hold out.

  • Drac

Windows 7 is awesome, and for 30 pounds I would definitely go for it.

I’m also kicking Deuce’s ass in Fantasy Football. – 200 pts to 60.  It’s like playing against a baby.

  • Wonderful Ned

Would Windows 7 work better on a Netbook than Windows XP? I’m thinking about installing it. Also, how much better is it than Vista for a highish powered PC?

  • http://twitter.com/stbtz STB

@Wonderful Ned: I’m running Windows 7 Ultimate on my 1000HE, and it is noticibly better than the XP Home it came preinstalled with. Only thing that doesn’t work right is unpredictable sleep/hibernate/shutdown behavior when I close the lid or hit the power button.

I just ordered my freebie Windows 7 Home Premium that came with the copy of Vista I bought when I built a new machine a few months ago, so I can’t comment on the high end desktop part yet.

  • Israel

@Drac Now this fantasy is getting fun.

  • Israel

and who’s St. Thomas Beavers by the way? You got a trade proposition up there.
